A comparison of the induction of myeloid and lymphoid leukemias in x-radiated RF mice.

چکیده
Previous experiments have shown that myeloid and lymphoid leukemia may be induced in mice of the RF strain by exposure to whole-body ioniz ing radiation (5, 26, 28, 29). These studies also indicated that the rates of induction of the two types of leukemia varied with the dose of radiation and also with the sex and physiological status of the exposed animal. The present experiments rep resent a more detailed investigation of some fac tors that influence the induction of these two diseases by radiation. Preliminary results have been reported in part elsewhere (27).

The role of microRNA in acute/chronic, myeloid/lymphocytic leukemia
MicroRNAs are small, non-coding sequences that regulate gene expression by inducing degradation or translational inhibition of target mRNAs. These molecules control many intracellular physiological and pathological processes.Abnormal expression of these moleculs has been described in different cancers including hematopoietic cancers. According to the type of cancer and the stage, miRNA’s expres...
متن کاملIsolation and Phenotyping of Normal Mouse Liver Dendritic Cells by an Improved Method
Introduction Dendritic cells (DCs) are bone marrow-derived cells, which migrate to lymphoid and non-lymphoid organs via blood. Liver DCs are believed to play an important role in the regulation of hepatic allograft acceptance. However, because of inherent difficulties in isolating adequate numbers of DCs from liver, limited information is available on the phenotype and functions of liver DCs. ...
متن کاملElectron microscopic observations on primary and serially passaged radiation-induced myeloid leukemias of the RF mouse.
RF mice with primary and passaged radiation-induced myeloid leukemia were ex amined with the electron microscope for the presence of virus particles. The spleen, liver, and bone marrow of nearly all such mice examined contained small numbers of these particles. In one of two animals in which other tissues (thymus, pancreas, salivary glands, lymph nodes, omentum, lung, and brain) were examined, ...
متن کاملMutation of all Runx (AML1/core) sites in the enhancer of T-lymphomagenic SL3-3 murine leukemia virus unmasks a significant potential for myeloid leukemia induction and favors enhancer evolution toward induction of other disease patterns.
SL3-3 murine leukemia virus is a potent inducer of T-lymphomas in mice. Using inbred NMRI mice, it was previously reported that a mutant of SL3-3 with all enhancer Runx (AML1/core) sites disrupted by 3-bp mutations (SL3-3dm) induces predominantly non-T-cell tumors with severely extended latency (S. Ethelberg, J. Lovmand, J. Schmidt, A. Luz, and F. S. Pedersen, J. Virol. 71:7273-7280, 1997). By ...
متن کاملHyper eosinophilia associated with myeloid and lymphoid neoplasms
Eosinophilia in the absence of allergies, asthma, drug reactions, parasitic infections and connective tissue diseases can be eosinophilic clonal disorders, lymphoma or myeloproliferative disorders. Hypereosinophilia with the persistence of eosinophils ≥1500 /mm³ in blood or more than 20% of eosinophils in the bone marrow may be observed in many reactive or clonal disorders, the result of which ...
